A. and I don’t have any children, because we met too late in life for her to have one, though it almost happened for us near the beginning of our relationship, which was four years ago. Meaning, we were expecting a child at one time, not long after we’d met, but the embryo or fetus did not survive past the first two or three months of its gestation, which was not all that surprising to us, because we knew such an outcome was possible, if not likely, but which nevertheless brought about in us a feeling of despondency and loss.
