I did manage to read a few pages of Don Quixote last night, as I was lying on the couch with A., watching TV with the volume low. In the book, the same sort of episode keeps happening, over and over, which is that Quixote, who now refers to himself as the ‘Knight of the Rueful Figure’, gets into trouble with strangers he encounters on the roads and ‘highways’ of La Mancha, by misconstruing, according to his delusions, the intentions or the business of those strangers, and finding in their conduct an offense against chivalry.
