Two police officers on the sidewalk wanted to know what our business was, and we told them, and showed them the reservation I’d made, on my phone. Another used a sort of wand to hover over our persons, like you see at security lines in airports, and at stadiums, to check for, I guess, explosives. A. made jokes with them and they were easy-going and smiled a little with her. I would’ve made jokes too but it would not have come off right, from me. I’ve learned that I can be quite awkward when I try to make jokes.
