Among those saints are doctors, scientists, kings, queens, soldiers, statesmen, abbots, abbesses, philosophers, theologians, missionaries, and the like. In other words, persons whose roles, or callings, have involved them in the sort of responsibilities I alluded to earlier, when I mentioned ‘adulthood’. And yet all of whom retained, as their primary characteristic, the simplicity of a child, without which, as Jesus said, we “will not enter the kingdom of heaven”.
