When we arrived in our neighborhood I dropped A. out front of our building, retrieved her suitcase for her from the trunk, stood it on its wheels on the sidewalk with the handle up, so that she could steer it, hugged and kissed her once, as I hadn’t had a chance to yet, then got back in the driver’s seat and returned the car to the parking ramp, while A. went directly up to our apartment. About ten minutes later I entered the apartment myself, and saw her suitcase open on the floor, and she removing things from it, while the cats walked in between her legs and sidled up against her affectionately.
