My dad and I painted the walls in the basement yesterday. We painted them white, with a primer that we purchased at Home Depot. The basement itself is unfinished, with the walls and the floor made of hard, uneven grouting or cement, and the ceiling comprised of wooden beams wherein cobwebs abound and much of the wiring is exposed. So that our aim in painting the walls was not so much to beautify the space but to brighten it and make it seem cleaner, and less dim. Which perhaps is the same thing as beautifying it, I don’t know. My dad also painted a door down there green.
