This morning I woke before 4 a.m. and lay in bed for some time trying to fall back asleep, but could not, so finally I got up around 4:30 and pulled on my pajamas and came out to the kitchen to make coffee. The cats were still asleep, so I tried to be quiet, but they began to stir anyway and joined me in the kitchen, where it was too dark to see them but where I could feel one of them rubbing against my legs.
