And yet I myself tend to include in my art information that is not exactly relevant to whatever ‘truth’ I happen to be pursuing. Which may explain why I seem to ramble, digress, and not infrequently be lacking in purpose. And so perhaps I am not a good example of Emily Dickinson’s injunction, even if I like it and think often of it, in relation to the work of other artists.
