This sounds like an excuse for malingerers, a guise for the defense of one’s own laziness, but my hunch is that it is true in the main, even if some moments of idleness for a so-called ‘creative artist’ are just that — idleness — and are less necessary, or worthwhile, than are these other moments that seem to be idle when in fact they are vital.
