One thing I find remarkable about that passage from Kowalska’s diary is the varying ways in which people can carry these crosses; there is something touching about the possibility that even those who “drag” their crosses, with reluctance and dismay (and perhaps even ill will), are not necessarily excluded from the beatific vision. What Christ seems to say about them is that they will “bear less resemblance to Me in glory,” not that they will be absented from it.
