And that they have permitted themselves to function that way (undetectably, or clandestinely) not out of some noble or virtuous motive, wherein they seek the betterment of society while dispensing with the accolades that would accrue to them were their existence publicly known, but because, by doing so, they can try to shape or arrange the fabric of society according to their own measure of what society ought to look like, without regard for what people might, democratically speaking, want (let alone what is wanted Providentially).
