In other words, if you are going to worship Gaia, or ‘Mother Earth’, then you are going to subordinate humankind to ‘nature’, as a pagan does. And while you may be sincere in your beliefs, and in the thoughts that have led you to those beliefs, which are based on the idea that humans should respect the environment, and care for it, and not abuse it (which indeed they shouldn’t), not only are you going to be in error theologically, but you are going to be used, like a tool, by people and organizations who, in this era, recognize that the so-called ‘climate crisis’ is an opportunity to control the populace.
