Though even then I’m not sure what any of us (meaning ordinary citizens, the ‘little people’) would be able to do about it. Because we’ve become so dependent on government for the delivery of our goods and services, and have so connected our identities to digital records (which can be instantly checked or corroborated), that anyone who doesn’t satisfy, according to the criteria of the government, whatever requirements that government decides to enact (in the interest of ‘sustainability’ or ‘carbon zero’, or whatever other dishonest phrase it chooses to deploy, and hide behind), will risk losing their access to those goods and services.
