There are many reasons that people turn away from what I guess I would call ‘Truth’, to seek its wisdom elsewhere; and some of these reasons are not only understandable and rational, but also should elicit sympathy, as too often it has been those who represent ‘Truth’ (and I’m speaking now of the Catholic religion) who have, either by ignorance or personal failing (and thus their own culpability), brought about this ‘turning away’ in those very people.
