Not that technical proficiency isn’t essential to art, or that the channeling of the subconscious alone is the measure of it (if that were the case, all a person would need to do, to produce art, would be to commit some doodling to paper, or go outside and graffiti a wall with whatever gibberish presents itself to one’s mind).
