I’m still working my way through Don Quixote, I should say. I read some of it last night, with a reading lamp A. got me for Christmas, as one of her presents to me. You clip the fixture onto the pages of your book, when the book is open, as you’re lying in bed, say, sitting up against the pillows; and there is a bendy stem to which the head of the lamp is attached, so that you can move it easily into whatever position you want it to be in. The lamp, which is small and rectangular, has three settings, so that you can choose the quality or intensity of light you prefer. So far I’ve used only the lowest setting, which is a warm yellow light, rather than a bright white light.
