Which isn’t to say that to be ‘interesting’ is to be virtuous, or that interestingness is a quality to even wish to have, in real life, but that it can sustain a work of art because it manifests most frequently as ambiguity, or as mystery, which by its nature demands, on the part of the one who is encountering it, a postponing of judgment.
