Of course, I cited an example, in Jesus, of the one figure who is perfectly psychologically sound anyway, but there are plenty of other figures in the Bible who are psychologically unsound, or anyway who suffer from the normal psychological wear and tear of being human, like the rest of us, and yet they too tend to be portrayed in terms of their faith or lack of faith, not as ‘stars’ of their own psychological or emotional history.
